Jessica's Christmas Mexican/American Tradition
Well my family we celebrate way differently than others. On December twelve is the day we sing to the Virgin Mary like around four in the morning.People bring flowers ,Mariachi (as in musicians) to sing to the Virgin Mary.On the same week of Christmas the church I go to has this tradition of having a party everyday until Christmas. That tradition is called (Posadas). On
Christmas Eve while my family is at church celebrating with other families my cousins and I stay at the house and set up the table with food and set the presents under the tree for the little children. While the adults are eating the children and young adults are dancing at the music and some looking at there presents waiting to open them up. By eleven forty-five our family gathers two separate parts boys on the other side and girls on the other side and sing Christmas Carols. One of my little cousins holds the baby Jesus and kisses it on the forehead and get a free candy. At twelve midnight we gather again on the outside the backyard and start handing out presents for everyone of us. When that's over we dance all night until we are tired. That's what my family do for that week before Christmas.Michelle's Christmas
How my family celebrates Christmas.Well after Thanksgiving we put up the lights around the house. Then we put up the Christmas tree and decorated with adornments that we made and bought. Then when its the week of Christmas you could go to the church party's if you want to. On Christmas Eve my mother and my aunts make tamales and some sandwiches that are huge you can't even finish it. On Christmas Eve most of my family comes to my house and eats to spend time.
